Why Medows Is the First AI Clinical Workspace
Most clinical AI solves one task. Medows is an AI clinical workspace built for the doctor on rounds — holds your list, answers grounded in the patient on screen, handover over WhatsApp.

Every clinical AI tool you've tried solves one moment. It transcribes a consult. It answers a question. It suggests a code. Then it hands the patient back to you and disappears.
But a ward round isn't one moment. It's forty patients before lunch, vitals half-remembered between beds, a question you can't stop to Google, and a handover you're already late for. The work is continuous. The tools are not.
That gap is why Medows exists — and it's why we call it an AI clinical workspace instead of another clinical AI tool.
Point tools solve tasks. Doctors don't work in tasks.
The current generation of clinical AI is a pile of point tools, each excellent at exactly one thing:
- Ambient scribes listen to a consult and draft a note.
- Medical search tools answer a question when you ask.
- Coding tools turn your note into a claim.
Each is useful. None of them knows what's happening on your ward right now. The scribe doesn't know which patient you're standing in front of. The search tool doesn't know their potassium came back at 5.6. You become the integration layer — carrying context from your head into each app, all day.
That's not an intelligence problem. It's an architecture problem. You don't fix it by making one tool smarter. You fix it by changing where the intelligence sits — next to the patient, inside the work.
What an AI clinical workspace actually is
Medows isn't a bot you summon and forget. It's the place you run your shift from. It holds the patient list while you do the work:
- Vitals, complaints, active orders, and lab values laid out the way you'd rattle them off on rounds — with colour telling you which numbers need eyes.
- An AI that already sees what you see — the vitals, the recent labs, the completed tasks — before you ask.
- Answers grounded in the actual patient on screen, not a generic textbook reply.
- Handover sent over WhatsApp, because that's where the handover actually happens.
Crucially, it's a personal workspace for shift work — not an EHR, not a record-keeping system, and not a substitute for your hospital's documentation. It sits alongside all of that and does the thing none of it does: keep the patient in front of you and reduce the friction between beds. No paperwork. No EHR bloat. No patient slipping through.
The part that decides whether doctors trust it
Most clinical AI asks you to trust a black box. On a ward, at 2 a.m., you won't — and you shouldn't.
So Medows is built to be verified. Every suggestion sits next to the patient context it used. You can trace any answer back to exactly what's on screen — the labs, the vitals, the events it read. Nothing is asserted from nowhere. If the AI says repeat the K+ at 04:00 because it's 5.6 on a diuretic, you can see the 5.6.
Verifiable AI isn't a feature we bolted on. For clinical work it's the entire precondition for use.
Built for the doctor first
Medows starts with the person running the ward. It's free for individual clinicians for now, and your patient data stays in your own account — there's no paywall while the product is still finding its shape.
That's a deliberate choice about where to begin, not where to stop. The tools that actually get used in medicine earn their place at the bedside first — one doctor at a time, by removing a real friction, the kind that wastes ten minutes when ten patients are waiting. Win the trust of the clinician doing the work, and you earn the right to help the team, the ward, and everything around them. Clinician-first isn't a limit on where Medows goes. It's the foundation the rest is built on.
So what does "first" mean
We're not claiming to be the first company to put AI in front of a doctor. Good tools got there before us, and several do their one job well.
We're claiming something narrower and more useful: Medows is the first AI clinical workspace built for the doctor on rounds — one verifiable, context-aware place that holds the list and assists across the shift, instead of one task at a time. That's the category. As far as we can tell, we're first in it, and we intend to stay there.
The bet
The bet is simple: a workspace that understands your whole shift beats a smarter bot that only understands one slice of it. Doctors don't need more apps to switch between. They need one place that already knows what's going on — and that they can check.
Medows is free for individual clinicians right now. If it's the tool you wish you'd had on your last busy take, try it at medows.ai — hold your list, ask the patient in front of you, and send the handover before you leave.
